Equipment

Lovely Overview of Equipment

We used a variety of camera equipment throughout the filming process. We used our friends' drones to capture the scene at the beginning of our movie. This drone was a DJI Spark. It had a camera and had the capabilities to capture follow Jacob as he entered the police station. It was a good thing we had him there to make sure the drone was stabilized and levitated slow enough to still see the building.

Later when capturing the mugshots we used our friends' camera, a Canon EOS Rebel E7, on my tripod. I would say that the tripod extended at a little under 5 feet to allow us to capture everyone’s mugshot with a stabilized camera. The tripod was a big help because it allowed us to capture everything without it being too shaky while filming inside.

When filming the interrogation scenes we used a microphone. In the middle of the table to capture the sound of the character, so we can edit it over the visual portion. To film the beginning, over-the-shoulder shot of each interrogation. We held the camera up manually to look at the file and used the tripod to balance it afterward.

Microphone we used is on the table

As for the police car scene, we sadly did not have our tripod so, we filmed that manually with the same camera, and to obtain the audio for that we used an iPhone.

To edit the sound we used DaVinci Resolve as well as used the Voice Recorder application on our iPhones to shorten the audio clips of the sirens. we didn’t include any filters while editing because we didn’t feel the need and liked the look of our video without them.
