Cliques

After leaving our apocalypse idea in the past. We suggested doing a movie set in a high school. We were thinking of multiple teen dramas when we came across the idea for this movie. I thought that a movie based on teens convicted for murder would be very cool. The main inspiration for our movie came from the book, One of Us is Lying. This book was written by Karen McManus. I fell in love with this book when I read it, so I thought it would be cool to see it on screen created by us. The book is about 5 teenagers who get called into detention for different reasons and 1 among them ends up dying because of water from a glass covered in peanut oil, which the student was allergic to peanuts. The authorities must now figure out what happened to the student and the teens need to figure out who they can trust. As for the part about the stereotypes, we took inspiration from the 80s to the early 2000s movies. Sometimes it makes you think about which clique you would fit in if you went to that school. In those movies, there are different cliques that stick together which we wanted to incorporate in our film as well. We wanted our audience to relate from a personality perspective with a character and try to figure out who might have done it.
