Sound

                                                                         Sound

All of our audio files

In order to capture the sound for our project we had obtained the actual sound from the camera as well as sound from the microphone. after testing both to see which sounded the best, we decided to go with the audio recorded using the microphone. We also tested one other thing when recording the narration which was whether or not to include a muffler when capturing the audio, we felt that our audio sounded more clear without one on the mic. This meant that our video and audio would be separated which we thought would be easy to fix… WRONG! It took so long for us to match our lips to the video of us when editing. This made editing very complicated.

To ensure that we had both non-diegetic sound and diegetic sound we included multiple examples of both non-diegetic and diegetic sound. For example, we have would be the narrator's voice. There is not a known source which the sound originates from. This can be found in each of the main characters' mugshots. As for non-diegetic sound, we included the sound of footsteps walking to a door, opening a door, dialogue, camera flashing, and the sirens of a police car.

Once the editing for the audio portion is completed I think we will have pretty good audio to match our clips. despite how tedious it is I think it will be worth it in the end. Music and any other background sound is something we have to add in a little later down in the road because we have to decide which clips need it and choose audio that matches that clip the most because that is very important.

The sound portion can be found in green under the visual clips
