                             Supporting Character Analysis

In our movie opening, we have a supporting character,  the detective. This character is played by Jacob. The detective doesn't have a large part in our film, but he does make cameos in scenes such as the interrogation scene. He is not as important to the plot as the main four characters would be. We see this character wearing a black shirt as he listens to the alibis of the main characters to hopefully catch the killer. You do not get a sense of what his reaction would be because we only see his shoulder. This gives off a sense of mystery since we do not know anything about him. We can imagine that he would tentatively be listening to what each character has to say to find any potential lies or loopholes. He would for sure be very determined and have a very strong sense of justice. He wants to ensure that the killer is caught to give the family of the deceased piece of mind. As I mentioned earlier he does not have any lines, but you can imagine he would be very inquisitive. His need to find the answer to this case will serve as his motivation.

Our other supporting character would be the police officer. He is shown near the beginning of the movie opening. This character was also played by Jacob. In the scene, he walks out of his car to look at the crime scene. He is wearing black pants and we only get to see his legs which also adds to the mystery and tension. By seeing his walk, we are under the impression he has a serious demeanor. Similar to the detective, he would be very determined and his want to solve the case would be his motivation. We can obtain all of these clues without hearing him speak or seeing him speak.
