Time to film!

Hi guys! I am very excited to announce that we are in the works of starting filming. After discussing some dates of when we are all free we decided that February 13th is going to be our first day of filming. We plan to meet up at around 1:00pm to get started!

A challenge already that we have encountered was finding days when we are free to start filming. Some more challenges are going to be acting and filming. I already know that acting is going to be a big issue for me personally. My group members are super funny and I know it will be hard to have a straight face when I see them behind the camera, but I will try my best and act to the best of my ability. Another challenge was filming. We just need to figure out what device we are going to be filming on whether that be a phone or a camera, how we will record audio to ensure that it is clear and our audience can understand it, and the type of lighting we are going to be using.

There are challenges, but there are also some things that will be easy for us to do as well. I think creating our setting would be fairly easy. For most of our scenes, there isn't an elaborate backdrop. For example, for a portion of our project, we are going to be showing the alibi of the suspects, which includes a table and chairs. Another thing we think will be easy is coming up with the props to use. We know we want to use handcuffs, a briefcase, a sign for the mugshot, and many others. We are thinking of getting these at our local Halloween store, so I think that will be an easy portion of the filming and creating process.

As for who is doing what, since we haven't started filming it's a little difficult to know exactly who is doing it, but we know that Kayla is going to bring the film equipment and I will be looking for a place to film. I am thinking of going to my local library to see if we could film in one of the rooms there. Tyler will be providing our costumes and props and Jacob will be our creative director so to speak. He will be working on the setting, the script, and the camera angles.

Actors: The actors will be Tyler, Kayla, Jacob, and I.

Costumes: We are thinking of having each character dress up in traditional high school outfits. So for the jock, we would have him be dressed in either a letterman jacket or sports gear. The nerd will be wearing glasses and perhaps a polo shirt. For the rich girl, she would wear a very expensive-looking, very put-together outfit with maybe some accessories such as a necklace or sunglasses. We are unsure as to the "stereotype" our last character would be, but we know we want her to be very emotional throughout the film, so her costume will reflect that. We are also planning on dressing each character in a color according to their personality.

Props: For props as stated before we would need handcuffs, a briefcase, and a sign for the mugshots. We would also need a file folder that would hold evidence and we would need caution tape as well.

Locations: We are still unsure as to where we are going to film, but we know we need to film in a dark room with one table and chairs to share the suspect's alibi. We would also need to film the at the scene of the crime. Lastly, we would need to film in a room with an empty wall to take the mugshot pictures.

Dates/ Times: Our first day of filming will be on February 13, 2022, at 1:00pm. We will update you guys more on our next filming days.

Scripts: We will be coming out with a script shortly, we are still brainstorming what we want our characters to say. Jacob will be taking the leading role in writing the script.

Film equipment: We are going to be testing our filming on multiple devices such as our phones and cameras to obtain the best quality of film we can get. Kayla will be providing the film equipment.
